About

Adam is a filmmaker who is drawn to telling the stories of those on the margins, and bringing them to the center. He is a Video Producer based in Guatemala, focusing on storytelling with child survivors of sexual violence. Adam seeks to center survivor voices and use participatory filmmaking as a process of resilience building and trauma healing. Currently, he works primarily with Vida para Niños/Kids Alive International. Previously, Adam was the Senior Film Producer at International Justice Mission, tasked with creating films about the work of justice to inspire and move people to action.

Storytelling has taken Adam to meet resilient survivors of slavery and violence in Ghana, Philippines, Dominican Republic, Uganda, and India. Through film, Adam seeks to humanize the other and dignify the neglected. Born and raised in California, he is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, and holds a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary.

Adam works professionally in Spanish and English and is available for projects in Latin America and worldwide. Get in touch here: adamharrisonjoe@gmail.com
